🏖️ 1. Agathi Beach – Golden Sand and Shallow Water
Agathi Beach is one of the loveliest sandy beaches on this side of Rhodes. Set in a sheltered bay near Haraki, it is known for its fine golden sand and relatively shallow water, making it particularly appealing for a relaxed swimming day. The beach has sunbeds, umbrellas and simple refreshment options during the season.
Its setting feels very different from the larger resort beaches. The surrounding hills give the bay a more secluded character, while nearby Feraklos Castle adds a touch of history to the landscape.

📍 Elin Rhodes → Agathi Beach
🕒 Roughly 15 minutes by car, depending on traffic and route. Agathi is only around 7 km from central Kalathos.
🌊 2. Haraki Beach – A Relaxed Seaside Village
Haraki, also written as Charaki, combines a small beach with the atmosphere of a traditional seaside village. Its shoreline mixes sand and pebbles, while the waterfront is lined with restaurants and cafés, making it a particularly easy choice if you want to combine swimming with a long Greek lunch. The Municipality of Rhodes describes it as especially popular with families.
The bay feels relaxed and intimate compared with larger tourist resorts, and the ruins of Feraklos Castle rise above the surrounding landscape.

🕒 Around 10–15 minutes by car. Haraki is only a few kilometres north of Kalathos.
🏝️ 3. Glystra Beach – A Small Sandy Escape South of Lindos
For a quieter beach day south of Lindos, Glystra Beach is a beautiful option. It is a relatively small cove with fine sand and a calmer, more intimate atmosphere than many of Rhodes’ larger beaches. Sunbeds, umbrellas and seasonal refreshment facilities are available.
Its scale is part of its charm. Glystra works particularly well for couples or families who simply want to spend a few hours swimming and relaxing without planning an entire day around a major resort.
What to do:

☀️ 4. Tsambika Beach – One of Rhodes’ Classic Beach Days
Tsambika is worth the slightly longer drive. Beneath the dramatic hill of Panagia Tsambika, the beach stretches along a broad bay of golden sand and offers sunbeds, refreshments and water sports. It is one of the island’s best-known beaches and makes an excellent full-day excursion from Elin Rhodes.
The wide beach means there is room for both active and relaxed days. Families appreciate the sandy shoreline, while anyone looking for something more energetic can try the available water activities.

💎 5. Anthony Quinn Bay – Worth the Longer Drive
Anthony Quinn Bay is the furthest beach in this Part II guide, but it offers a completely different experience. Surrounded by rocky cliffs, the compact bay is famous for its clear water and underwater landscape, making it particularly attractive for snorkeling and diving. The bay became associated with actor Anthony Quinn after the filming of The Guns of Navarone in Rhodes.
Because it is relatively small and extremely popular, this is one beach where arriving early is worthwhile, especially during July and August.
What to do:
✔️ Snorkel around the rocky seabed
✔️ Swim in deep, clear water
✔️ Photograph the dramatic cove
✔️ Combine it with nearby Ladiko Beach
Where to eat:
Enjoy a drink or light meal around the bay, or continue towards Ladiko or Faliraki for more options.

🕒 Allow roughly 35–45 minutes by car. It is around 26 km from central Kalathos.
Which Beach Should You Choose?
If you want golden sand and shallow water, choose Agathi. For a relaxed seaside-village atmosphere and lunch by the water, head to Haraki. If your priority is a smaller and quieter sandy cove, try Glystra. Tsambika is ideal when you want a classic full beach day, while Anthony Quinn Bay is the standout choice for snorkeling and dramatic scenery.
